Popcorn Chicken AND Oreos? Pizza Hut Taiwan Reveals Strangest Pizza Topping Combo We've Ever Heard

Where do we even start with this?

First Maccas in China released a coriander sundae, and now Pizza Hut in Taiwan is putting Oreos on pizza alongside not only popcorn chicken, but also squid.

That's a sentence we never thought we'd type.

For $399 New Taiwan dollars (just under AU$20), the 'Popcorn Chicken Pizza' comes topped with tempura, fried squid rings, salted popcorn chicken, spring onion, and of course, gooey cheese.

Oh and there's 10 Oreo cookies garnished with parmesan on each edge of the cheese-filled crust (a crust that's been molded into the shape of a star of all things).

Sounds unbelievable, so here's the enticing vid Pizza Hut posted to their Facebook page.

Images first leaked online of the potential new flavour combo on 5 May before Taiwan News confirmed it was indeed a new product set to be launched on 10 May.

The pizza aims to use "the most annoying ingredients of sin" according to their Facebook post launching the controversial dish. Every bite is apparently supposed to punch with a mix of creaminess, crunch and sweetness.

What ever happened to the simplistic goodness of the ol' Margherita?

Tried the Popcorn Chicken & Oreo pizza with tempura and fried squid rings of @pizzahut Taiwan 😁🤪

Pizza Huts and Dominos stores in East Asia are pretty well known for their creative toppings with flavours like dim sum, spicy hot pot, strawberry stinky tofu and even cilantro century egg pig’s blood cake pizza all gracing the menu at some stage.

No thank you.

The 'Popcorn Chicken Pizza' is only available for a limited time, which is probably for the best. So, if you find yourself in Taiwan, get a taste of it before it's gone.
