Guess Who Scored Tickets To Donald Trump’s Inauguration? (It’s Pauline Hanson)

This actually makes a lot of sense.
One Nation leader Pauline Hanson has excitedly revealed on Twitter that she’s been offered tickets to attend the impending inauguration of U.S. President-elect Donald Trump.
Over three tweets—and what a rollercoaster ride it was—Hanson went from calling the offer “an honour” to eventually declining the invite, citing “duties to the people of Queensland & Australia”.
Would you believe it? I have been gifted tickets to the Presidential Inauguration Ceremony of @realDonaldTrump - What an honour! #auspol

Because of my duties to the people of Queensland & Australia I'm still deciding if I can attend the inauguration of @realDonaldTrump #auspol

Because of work commitments I'll not be attending Donald Trump's inauguration. My duties to the people of Queensland & Australia come first.

Nonetheless, the offer was quite a coup, considering that many Democratic members of the US House of Representatives are struggling to secure seats at the shindig.
Senator Hanson’s chief adviser James Ashby told The Age that Trump is aware she’s a “big supporter”, though he would not reveal the actual source of the gift.
Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull is not planning on attending the inauguration on January 20 either.
PM Turnbull is not going to imminent @realDonaldTrump's inauguration ceremony, not sure if "gifted tickets" turned up regardless.

In Labor leader Bill Shorten’s first press conference of 2017, he laughed off news of Senator Hanson’s tickets, adding that he had not been extended the same invite.

It capped a pretty big day for One Nation. Earlier, it was revealed that a ReachTEL poll of 2126 voters had concluded the party held a primary vote of 9.7 per cent, putting it ahead of even the Greens (at 8.9 per cent). This should distract from last week’s drama for at least a day or two.
Anyway, this was your daily reminder that 'President Trump' is indeed happening.
Inauguration Day is turning out to be even bigger than expected. January 20th, Washington D.C. Have fun!
