Obama Soaking Up That Post-President Life by Taking Up New Hobby: Kitesurfing

Barack and Michelle Obama are truly embracing the #YOLO lifestyle.

Former U.S. President Barack Obama has been snapped kitesurfing at the British Virgin Islands. (Thanks for the invite, man…)

Judging from the beaming smile on his face, he's clearly not missing the White House too much.

The two were joined by billionaire Virgin founder Richard Branson, who published a blog post with pictures and videos. Let’s just say: Obama looks as happy as a kid in a candy store.

Obama told Branson he was banned from surfing during his time in office. “Just before he became president, he had been surfing on a dangerous break in Hawaii,” the blog post read.

“When he came in from an exhilarating session, the new head of his security team turned to him and said, ‘This will be the last time you surf for eight years.’”

Clearly missing his love for watersports (or just non-presidential hobbies in general) Branson was more than happy to invite the Obamas to his island. He said it was “a huge honour”.
