A New, Free “Super Mario” Game Just Landed In The App Store

We may not be getting a Super Mario theme park in Australia, but Nintendo is hoping a new, free game featuring the behatted plumber will make do instead.

After months of waiting, the game developers have finally released Super Mario Run to the App store. It marks Mario’s iOS debut.

Of course, you get what you pay for. Though you can download it for free, that only gives you access to the first two levels. If you want to keep playing, it’ll cost you $14.99.

We suspect most will pony up the additional money, given the ease with which Super Mario Run can be played. (True to its title, Mario automatically runs from one side of the screen to the other, so you simply need to tap to jump, collect coins, stomp turtles, et cetera.)

The game is exclusive to iPhone and iPad. It is expected to make $AUD94 million in its first month of release.

Find it now in the App Store and prepare to lose your weekend.

Sorry, Pokémon Go. It was always going to end this way.
