Get The New Childish Gambino Tune "Me And Your Mama" In Your Ears Immediately

Surprise! Donald Glover, having ping-ponged back and forth between TV comedy and hip-hop, has revealed his next project will indeed be a musical one.

As Childish Gambino, he will release his third album on December 2. It’s called Awaken, My Love! and it will be his first full-length record since 2013’s Grammy-nominated Because the Internet.

The first track has already been unleashed upon the world. Though it’s called “Me and Your Mama”, it’s not quite the salacious, R. Kelly-esque slow jam you’d expect from the title.

Instead, it’s a slightly more psychedelic affair. Enjoy.

Given his TV show Atlanta, which just wrapped its excellent first season, regularly confounded and upended viewers, we should have known he’d want to keep surprising us, even musically.

Childish Gambino debuted the new album at a live event in September at Joshua Tree, by the similarly baffling name of PHAROS. (This guy, with the names.)

The rest of us have to wait a full three weeks to hear what Glover has in store for us.
