Miley Cyrus Makes the Internet Cry With a Sweet Letter to Hannah Montana

She got the best of both worlds.

If your weekends were once spent watching Hannah Montana on Disney Channel with your best pal and shouting all the words to the opening theme song, same tbh.

So, if that still feels like yesterday, I'm terribly sorry to burst your bubble but it turns out today marks the 15th anniversary of the popular show's premiere. 

Yep, you read that correctly.

To celebrate the special occasion, Miley Cyrus—who rose to fame as the titular character in the series—penned a highly nostalgic and emotional letter to Hannah, which she shared to social media.

"Although you are considered to be an 'alter ego,' in reality there was a time in my life when you held more of my identity in your glovette than I did in my bare hands," Miley wrote to the character. 

The singer also detailed the personal challenges she faced throughout her time filming the show.

"You + I have been through it all together my friend. We've shared many firsts. A lot of lasts. Ups. Downs. Tears + laughs," Miley wrote.

"I lost my Pappy, my dad's father, while on set filming an early episode of Season 1... I experienced falling in love for the first time in those years."

Like that didn't make us cry enough, Miley went on to express her love for Hannah and thank the show's cast and crew, including her co-stars Emily Osment and Mitchel Musso. 

"Hannah, I hope you hear me + believe those words are true. You ave all my love and upmost gratitude. Breathing life into you for those 6 years was an honor. I am indebted not only to you Hannah but to any and everyone who believed in me from the beginning." 

She finished off with: "I love you Hannah Montana. Forever, Miley." 

Interestingly, a new verified Hannah Montana Twitter account retweeted Miley's post, which has fans wondering whether a reboot could be on the way.
