Time to Pull Out Your Old Low-Rise Jeans ‘Cos Avril Lavigne Is on TikTok

And she’s with Tony Hawk?
Thanks to Gen Z, 2020 and 2021 seem to be history’s designated 2000s revival years. We’ve seen the return of the bell bottoms, low-rise jeans, claw clips and even early 2000s-inspired music.
While bops like “YOU” from Eliza & The Delusionals, “Crash and Burn” by Maggie Lindemann and "Good 4 U" by Olivia Rodrigo are giving us all the noughties vibes we’ve been craving, there’s nothing quite like the music that actually came out of that era.
Now, you’re either on the older end of Gen Z (like me) or you’re a little too young to remember, but Avril Lavigne was a top-tier artist from this time and she left a big mark on all our angsty hearts.
Thankfully, the influx of noughties nostalgia has also brought some of these iconic artists out of their hidey holes, including our beloved Avril, who just appeared on TikTok with '90s icon Tony Hawk.

Overnight, Avril shared a TikTok of herself lip syncing to (undoubtably) her most popular song ever “Sk8ter Boi” only to reveal the world’s fave skater boy, Tony Hawk.
It doesn’t stop there either. The pair are both dressed head-to-toe in nostalgic ‘goth’ clothes from the time—something that Avril can be seen wearing in just about every pic and music video from her 2002 album Let Go.
On top of this, both legends haven’t aged a day (except maybe for a few grey hairs from Tony) and at 36 and 53 respectively, it’s both amazing and terrifying. Many TikTok users noticed this and commented their disbelief.
“Did I get in a time portal?” @tik.tok.tina commented.
“So… we all just non-aging vampires now?” @big.boostie commented.
The post isn’t just being loved by TikTok users either. Other big celebs and pages like Steve Aoki, the official TikTok account, the official MTV account and the official Among Us account also shared their excitement on the post.
avril lavigne is the closest thing we have to a time machine.

So far, this is Avril’s first and only TikTok video but surely this reveal means there’s more to come, yeah? Fingers crossed.
