Please Enjoy This Video of Greta Thunberg Rickrolling An Entire Crowd At Climate Live 2021

I have officially seen it all.
In case you needed a daily dose of serotonin, Greta Thunberg has supplied the goods.
On Saturday, the 18-year-old climate activist took to the stage at the Stockholm Climate Live concert and proceeded to Rickroll an entire crowd of excited fans.
The Rickroll meme will never die.
In a video posted to the official Climate Live 2021 TikTok account, Greta is seen getting up on stage, joined by another activist, expected to share important messages about climate action.
But right as the crowd least expects it, Greta utters the familiar first line from the iconic song “We’re no strangers to love,” and the crowd goes wild over the prank.
The pair then perform the entire song and I can’t lie, it’s very wholesome to watch.
Climate Live (and Greta’s performance) comes just a day after Aussie students all over the country left their classrooms again to strike for climate justice.
In case you’re a bit confused, according to Know Your Meme, Rickrolling is a bait-and-switch prank where the joker posts a hyperlink relevant to a topic in an online discussion, but the link re-directs viewers to the music video of “Never Gonna Give You Up” by Rick Astley—an 80s classic.
The meme has been going on for at least 15 years, with it believed to have originated in 2006 when YouTuber Erik Helwig prank called a Michigan radio station and played the song over the phone.
The song then evolved into a widespread internet meme after being posted to the imageboard community 4chan, replacing the ‘duckroll’; a joke with the same premise.
Today, the "Never Gonna Give You Up" music video has over 1 billion views on YouTube and counting. Honestly, iconic.
For those not in the know, Climate Live is a series of youth-led international concerts scheduled between 16 October to 23 October in 40+ countries worldwide to engage, educate and empower young people to make a difference in the fight for our climate.
Following Greta’s performance, she told Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet that it was a great opportunity for her to show the world who she really is, instead of the angsty teen portrayed in the media.
“At the end of the day, we are just teenagers fooling around with each other, not just the angry kids the media often portrays us as,” she said.
On top of the hilarity of being Rickrolled by a climate activist, Mr Rick Roll himself, Rick Astley, tweeted his approval to Greta’s rendition, writing in Swedish: “Fantastic and Tack så mycket! Rick x” which translates to “Fantastic and thanks so much!”
