"Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2" Is Finally Coming to Nintendo Switch

All right all you Nintendo Switch skaters, we know life can be a bit of a grind (see what we did there?) but from 25 June it doesn’t have to be ‘cos Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 is coming to Switch.

PS4 and Xbox One users have been able to play Pro Skater since September last year, with the next gen of new consoles joining them on 26 March. Finally though, the Switch is joining the party.

Now if you weren’t already up-to-speed, the skateboarding game is a faithful remastering of the first two Pro Skater games released in 1999 and 2000, with some added features from the later games like new tricks that were introduced in Tony Hawk: Underground.

Not to mention—aside from your favourite old-school skaters like The Birdman himself, Bob Burnquist and Rodney Mullen—the updated version added a bunch of new skaters including Nyjah Huston, Leticia Bufoni and Lizzie Armanto.

As well as the new characters, players can create their own skater with options to customise their face, body, clothes and deck setup. Honestly, it’s one of the coolest features of the remastering.

You can even add your own facemask to keep COVID safe in the game.

Something that definitely wasn’t a feature of the original games was a multiplayer online component. Split screen was the preferred—and the only—multiplayer style for the game back in the early 2000s so it’s cool to see they’ve added this to play with your mates and it looks like the Switch is getting this too.

Perfect for a rainy day when the skate park is more like a swimming pool.

For Switch users keen to bust a pop shuvit or two, you’ll need to prepare to part with $68. A fair price to pay we reckon to get some good ol’ skateboarding fun.
