"Rick and Morty" Gets Live-Action Trailer Ahead of Tonight’s Season Finale

Starring Christopher Lloyd as Rick and Jaeden Martell as Morty.

At long last, fans of Rick and Morty finally get to see the live-action versions of Rick Sanchez and Morty Smith in the latest promo trailer for the season finale, and who better to play Rick than the original mad scientist.

Christopher Lloyd—who most of you should recognise as Doc Brown from the Back to the Future series—stars in the 14-second clip as Rick, complete with wild hair and a white lab coat.

Joining Lloyd is Knives Out actor Jaeden Martell as Morty, and hats off to the Adult Swim team ‘cos he looks on point.

The trailer shows Rick and Morty jumping out of a portal and into a live-action replica of Rick’s lab (which looks on point btw).

‘Cos the series is one big rip on every other show that ever existed, it seems like show-runners Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon couldn’t help but take a jab at Han Solo’s line from Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

“Morty, we’re home,” Lloyd says in the clip, broken up with a vintage Rick burb to which Martell replies with Morty’s famous catchphrase, “aww jeez”.

Come on! How could anyone hate this?

The clip was uploaded by the show’s network Adult Swim with the caption “C-132”. Now, if you aren’t up to date on your Rick and Morty lore, this means that the live-action version of Rick and Morty are from dimension C-132 (remember, the original Rick is from C-137).

Basically, Adult Swim has said this is legit, leaving us to speculate if we’re gonna get a whole episode of live-action Rick and Morty or if this was just a teaser.

If that wasn’t enough, Adult Swim released another clip of live-action Morty getting angry at a pickle thinking it’s Rick, only for live-action Rick to appear behind him, snatch the pickle and eat it.

Fan service at its finest. You can check that clip out below.

The final two episodes of Rick and Morty Season 5 drop on Netflix tonight across Australia.
