LeBron James Reckons "Space Jam 2" Will Start Filming Mid-2019

We'll believe it when we see it.

When we first learned LeBron James was planning on starring in a sequel to Space Jam, he was still a Cleveland Cavalier, Kevin Durant was a ringless member of the Oklahoma City Thunder and the world had not even considered the beautiful promise of Kyrie Irving's Uncle Drew.

So much has changed. The only constant: Space Jam 2 is still not yet a thing.

However, that could change very soon, as LeBron himself confirmed in an interview over All Star Weekend that he’ll begin shooting the sequel to the Looney Tunes classic this American summer (AKA Aussie winter).

Of course, he did not indicate if shooting would start a bit earlier than intended should his Lakers miss the playoffs (which would make it the first time LeBron hasn't competed for a title since 2005).

Anyhoo, Space Jam 2, if it ever happens, is going to star Lebron, be produced by Black Panther’s Ryan Coogler and get directed by Terrence Nance.

No word on whether or not original star Michael Jordan will cameo. However, we will say it'll be very hard for LeBron's GOAT legacy if he doesn't pull off a similar game-winning move as MJ:
