Bask in LeBron James’ Childlike Joy at Filming "Space Jam 2"

You would feel the same!
The last year was one to forget for LeBron James, who defected to the L.A. Lakers with an NBA Championship in mind, only to miss the playoffs for the first time in 14 years.
Thankfully, things are looking up for LeBron. Not only have the Lakers snagged the elusive Anthony Davis for the 2019 – 20 season, but he’s begun filming the long-awaited sequel/reboot to Space Jam.
And he’s super psyched about it.
On Twitter today, James’ reflected with childlike wonder on the unlikely situation he’s found himself in (despite it being the result of several years contriving NBA trades to situate him and his co-stars accordingly).
Man this really just hit me! I’m really shooting Space Jam 2!! This is so surreal and doesn’t even make sense to me! Where I come from man and what I saw growing up this doesn’t add up to me! 🤦🏾♂️! I’m truly grateful and beyond blessed. This is CRAZINESS. 🏀 🐰 🎥 👑🙏🏾

The original Space Jam starred Michael Jordan as the lone human to help the Looney Tunes defeat the alien Monstars in an everything-on-the-line basketball match. James will now take on Jordan’s mantle (in the movie at least—the debate about the rest of Jordan’s legacy won’t be decided here, in a children's movie).
Rumours emerged last week that fellow NBA stars Davis, Damian Lillard and Klay Thompson would likely star opposite James in the flick (presumably as the ballers embodied by the alien Monstars).
Sources: Space Jam 2, starring LeBron James, is expected to feature key roles for Damian Lillard, Anthony Davis and Klay Thompson and WNBA stars Diana Taurasi and Nneka Ogwumike. Several more NBA and WNBA players, including Chiney Ogwumike, are expected to play roles in film.

WNBA stars Diana Taurasi and Nneka Ogwumike are also expected to be the remaining Monstars' teammates.
Unfortunately, Steph Curry turned down a role in Space Jam 2 due to scheduling, though he told the New York Times that "it’s going to be awesome".

Black Panther’s Ryan Coogler is producing Space Jam 2, which will be directed by Terrence Nance. Expect it in cinemas this time in 2020.
