Kanye Cancels The Rest Of His Tour; Is Maybe Not In The Best Place Right Now

Kanye West has cancelled the remainder of his Saint Pablo tour, following a stop in Sacramento that was abandoned after just three songs.
Update: Kanye has reportedly been hospitalised "for his own health and safety", according to NBC News. The original story is as follows.
As we wrote yesterday, Kanye’s grown more erratic (than usual) over the last few gigs, announcing his appreciation for Donald Trump and then calling out old mates Beyoncé and Jay Z for apparently betraying him in various ways.
His sermons (let’s not call them ‘rants’) are much-anticipated, stream-of-consciousness highlights in all of his live outings, but these last couple drew particular criticism – mostly because they seemed to suggest West was maybe having a hard time, personally.
The cancellation of his remaining dates echoes similar decisions made by Zayn Malik and Selena Gomez over the past few years; they both took time off to deal with anxiety and depression.
A source has since told TMZ that Kanye is “just exhausted.”
“He’s been working around the clock on fashion design, both his own line and the Adidas fashion line,” they added.
Most significantly, the source indicated that the robbery of Kim Kardashian in Paris, coupled with his increasing time away from family, has been a factor in his recent struggles.
"All the time spent away from his family has been a stress on him as well. They are most important to him."
This is a good reminder for those of us who sometimes flippantly accuse Kanye or other such celebs of undergoing a "meltdown". He's a person too, and shares in the same stresses and sometimes requires the same help.
Ticketholders for his remaining U.S. gigs – through to December 31 – will receive full refunds. Same goes for attendees of that Sacramento gig.
TMZ’s source says Kanye intends to continue the second leg of the tour once he’s fighting fit.
Here’s hoping he gets the support he needs and can return to Australia in 2017.
