Johnny Depp And Amber Heard Finalise Divorce With $US7m Settlement; Heard Donating Proceeds To Charity

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard’s contentious divorce has been settled, The Guardian reports.

The settlement comes days after video footage emerged of Depp in an angry row with Heard.

She had previously alleged Depp had been abusive during their relationship. Photos of Heard with facial bruises and a cut lip were published in People shortly after the allegations were made. With the settlement, Heard also withdrew her request for a domestic violence restraining order.

The settlement arrived the day before a court hearing, in which intimate details of their relationship would have come to the fore.

In a joint statement, Depp and Heard offered the final words on the saga.

“Our relationship was intensely passionate and at times volatile, but always bound by love,” it reads.

“There was never an intent of physical or emotional harm. Neither party has made false accusations for financial gains.”

Heard reportedly walks away from the relationship with a $US7 million ($AUD9.1 million) settlement. In their joint statement, Heard pledged to donate some proceeds from the divorce to charity.
