Jesy Nelson Is Leaving Little Mix to Focus on Her Mental Health

The band has been together for nine years.
Little Mix star Jesy Nelson has officially announced that she has quit the band, revealing that being part of the girl group has taken a toll on her mental health.
It's undoubtedly sad news for fans, but we've gotta stan a queen making her own well-being a priority.
Jesy took to social media overnight to share the news. She explained her decision in a letter posted to Instagram.
"The past nine years in Little Mix has been the most incredible time of my life," she wrote.
"The truth is recently being in the band has really taken a toll on my mental health. I find the constant pressure of being in a girl group and living up to expectations very hard."
Jesy added, "There comes a time in life when we need to reinvest in taking care of ourselves rather than focussing on making other people happy, and I feel like now is the time to begin that process."
The performer also thanked her fans, along with her bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Perrie Edwards and Jade Thirlwall, writing: "Most of all I want to say thank you to Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne for creating some of the most amazing memories I'll never forget."

A statement from Jade, Perrie and Leigh-Anne was also posted on Instagram.
"This is an incredibly sad time for all of us but we are fully supportive of Jesy," they wrote.
Naturally, Jesy's announcement left fans wondering whether Little Mix would be splitting up. However, it looks like the rest of the group are still keen to continue making music together.
"We are still very much enjoying our Little Mix journey and the 3 of us are not ready for it to be over," they wrote in the Insta post.
"We're looking forward to seeing so many of you on tour."
Jesy's decision to quit the band comes after she took an 'extended' break for medical reasons last month.
Fans are thanking the singer for opening up about her mental health struggles and doing what's best for her.
