Here's Why Billie Eilish Hides Her Body With Baggy Clothes

She’s taken a stance against body shaming.
It's no secret that Billie Eilish doesn't let people see her body. Wearing oversized clothes has become the singer's signature look, opting to dress in loose-fitting tops and pants.
Although, as Billie revealed as part of a Calvin Klein advertisement last year, she definitely has her reasons for wearing baggy clothes.
In the ad, Billie explained she doesn't want to give people the opportunity to have an opinion on her body.
"I never want the world to know everything about me," she said.
"I mean, that's why I wear big, baggy clothes. Nobody can have an opinion because they haven't seen what's underneath, you know?"
Now, Billie has also released a powerful short film called Not My Responsibility. It originally debuted during her "Where Do We Go?" world tour, which was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic in March.
In the clip, the singer is pictured alone in the dark wearing a black hoodie. With moody electronic music playing in the background, Billie narrates the film with a profound message about body shaming.
"You have opinions about my opinions, about my music, about my clothes, about my body. Some people hate what I wear, some people praise it, some people use it to shame others, some people use it to shame me," she says.
Billie then begins to ask some rhetorical questions.
"Would you like me to be smaller? Weaker? Softer? Taller? Would you like me to be quiet? Do my shoulders provoke you? Does my chest? Am I my stomach? My hips?"

As Billie sinks into the water at the end of the clip, she asks, "Is my value based only on your perception? Or is your opinion of me not my responsibility?"
It's spine-tingling stuff.
Earlier this month, Billie revealed that she would be postponing the rest of her tour dates for the "Where Do We Go?" world tour. She was originally supposed to return to the United Kingdom in July for a run of arena shows.
