Ja Rule's Fyre Festival Was Meant to Be Fire Emoji; Was More Like Poop Emoji

If you haven’t heard how luxury (read: rich people) music festival Fyre flopped fantastically, you’re in for a real treat.

Woodstock. Coachella. Lollapalooza. Fyre Festival. Doesn’t quite have the same ring to it, but Fyre was supposed to be considered among these “once-in-a-lifetime” opportunities.

It was also extremely expensive, meaning it was quite likely that only those predisposed to great wealth could attend, with punters allegedly paying up to $US12,000 dollars for their paradise island getaway.

The festival was conceived by some dude called Billy McFarland and once-adored rapper Ja Rule, best known for collabs with RnB singer Ashanti, and a small cameo in the original The Fast and the Furious.

Fyre was promoted by some big names in the US; mostly models like Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner, who have since apologised for putting their names anywhere near yet another PR disaster.

As festival-goers arrived at the island, the dreams of their #instagramgoals weekend crumbled spectacularly.

Reports say that there weren’t enough beds, food or water, and the festival was canceled due to horrible disorganisation and a lack of infrastructure.

But, the best part was the gold that the larrikins of the Twitter community delivered.

Moral of the story is, no matter how rich you are, you too can be stranded on Hunger Games-esque island, looting and fighting for food or a bed to sleep on.
