IKEA Might Be Releasing a Bread Sofa Called “Loafa” and I Knead It Now

It’s the pita blanket for me.

Don’t you love those stale crumbs that get lodged between the cushiony cracks of your sofa? Now imagine lying on a couch actually made of bread…mmmm….

There’s a lot to unpack here. Basically, Tommy Cash has pitched a bread bun sofa to IKEA called the “Loafa”.

The rapper posted the mock-ups to his Instagram and claimed he was in talks with IKEA to put it into production.

Sadly, the furniture company’s global press officer Diana Lavernova told Dezeen, “no one from IKEA was in touch with Tommy Cash”.

The “Loafa” was originally created and shared by Canadian artist Gab Bois earlier this month, who constructed it using real brioche hamburger buns and toothpicks. Talking to Dezeen, she said “it ended up being a literal representation of comfort food.”

Tommy Cash photoshopped himself on top of the sofa, making it appear like a full-scale furniture piece. He also created the iconic IKEA tag, which reads “Do not iron. Do not dry clean. Do not eat.”

We’re hoping the “Loafa” speaks for itself and becomes a reality.

If and when it's ever released, you best believe I’ll be loafing around on this sofa.
