How to Watch, Uh, "The Watch" in Australia

It stars Richard Dormer from Game of Thrones.

If you have been sitting at home twiddling your thumbs, waiting for another epic comic-fantasy drama to bless your screen, you're in luck.

The highly anticipated BBC America drama series The Watch will premiere 1 January 2021 exclusively on Stan.

Just seen a trailer for a new BBC America show called The Watch, looks pretty cool!

Inspired by the characters of Sir Terry Pratchett's comic-fantasy Discworld book series, the new eight-part drama follows an unlikely group of misfits called The City Watch. They're forced to find the guts to save the world, surprising even themselves in the process.

If you're a fantasy fanatic, get excited 'cos apparently the series pits trolls, werewolves, wizards and other improbable heroes against an evil plot to resurrect a great dragon which would lead to the destruction of life as they know it.

Sounds pretty juicy.

The Watch stars Richard Dormer, who played Beric Dondarrion in Game of Thrones. He's joined by Lara Rossi (I May Destroy You), Adam Hugill (1917), Jo Eaton-Kent (Don't Forget the Driver), Marama Corlett (Blood Drive) and Sam Adewunmi (The Last Tree).

While the show is a BBC America original series, Aussie viewers will get it on the same day as the US, so we don't have to worry too much about sneaky spoilers.

Check out the trailer for yourself. It seems to have a very Doctor Who meets Game of Thrones vibe, so if that's right up your alley, you know what you'll be watching on 1 Jan.
