How to Watch "Hacks" in Australia

It has already been renewed for a second season.

If you've checked out this year's list of Emmy nominations, you would have seen a show called Hacks picking up a whopping 15 noms.

Pretty impressive for a first-year comedy, right?

The American comedy-drama follows legendary Las Vegas stand-up comedy diva Deborah Vance (Jean Smart), who is trying to maintain relevance as the head of the casino where she performs tries to pare down on her performance dates.

She's forced to hire an ambitious young writer (Hannah Einbinder), who is unable to find work due to being #cancelled over an insensitive tweet. The two join forces to freshen up Vance's material and learn to respect each other's differences.

Love it. How do I watch Hacks in Australia?

The series premiered on 13 May 2021 on HBO Max, so poor Aussie viewers haven't been able to watch it.

Fortunately, all 10 episodes of Hacks will be landing on Stan on Friday, 6 August. That means you've got the rest of the week to mentally prepare to binge-watch it.

If 15 Emmy noms doesn't make it obvious enough, the show has received rave reviews in the United States, with the New Yorker hailing the series as "bracingly fresh and wholly original."

The series also stars Carl Clemons-Hopkins (Hamilton), Kaitlin Olson (It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia), Christopher McDonald (Happy Gilmore), Paul W. Downs (Broad City), Mark Indelicato (Ugly Betty), Poppy Liu (Better Call Saul) and Rose Abdoo (Gilmore Girls).

Given how much people are loving the show, it comes as no surprise that it has already been renewed for a second season. In fact, it was renewed two days before its Season 1 finale even aired on 10 June in the US.

At this stage, there's no word on when Season 2 will arrive.

If you need any further convincing (you really shouldn't), Hacks is co-created by Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs and Jen Statsky, who is best known for her work on Parks and Recreation and The Good Place.

You can check out the trailer below (be warned: you'll immediately become obsessed).
