How to Watch "Katy Keene" in Australia

The Riverdale spin-off is finally here.

Last week, The CW premiered Katy Keene, a new show based on the Archie Comics' character of the same name. Also serving as a spin-off to Riverdale, the show follows Katy (Lucy Hale), a 20-something aspiring fashion designer who makes clothes for anyone she possibly can.

Of course, that includes none other than her new roommate, Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), the singer/songwriter audiences were first introduced to in Riverdale.

Along with performer Jorge Lopez/Ginger (Jonny Beauchamp) and "It Girl" Pepper Smith (Julia Chan), the four chase their wildest aspirations in New York City.

When is Katy Keene set in relation to Riverdale?

That is an excellent question, and one that people are still trying to piece together. What we do know is the show takes place five whole years after Riverdale Season 4.

While Katy was introduced in Riverdale as someone shopping at her favourite department store, now she's actually working there as a personal shopper. She also happens to be one of Veronica Lodge's friends from New York City.

Where do I watch it?

The show, which was created by Michael Grassi, already premiered last week in the United States. Aussies can catch the pilot episode on FOX8 on Thursday 13 February. 

If you have a subscription, you can stream Katy Keene on Foxtel Now. Alternatively, catch the live episodes every Thursday at 8.30pm local time. 

Reviews of the first episode have been mostly positive, with critics describing the series as "Sex in the City meets Fame by way of The Devil Wears Prada."
