"Riverdale" Parents Skeet Ulrich and Marisol Nichols Are Leaving After Season 4

Say it ain't so.

Let's face it: no one is ever completely sure what's happening on Riverdale. Well, it looks like even more crazy drama is about to unfold, because Skeet Ulrich and Marisol Nichols are set to exit the show after Season 4.

Ulrich, who portrays everyone's favourite #RiverdaleDad F.P. Jones has been part of the series since the show's debut in 2017, and Nichols has also played the highly shady Hermione Lodge since Season 1.

While it's been confirmed that the two will no longer appear on the show past the current fourth season, we're not entirely sure how they'll be written off. But considering how central the characters are to the series, it's unlikely that they'll be leaving quietly.

It's safe to say that Riverdale stans aren't taking the news too well.

Although, with the core four (or three, depending on how, ahem, that one character's fate plays out) heading off to college in Season 5, others feel it makes sense for the parents to play a lesser role.

In a statement to E! News, Ulrich said "I'm incredibly grateful for the friendships I've made on Riverdale, and I will miss seeing everyone on a daily basis."

"I'm proud to have been part of such a talented group of people, in front of the camera and behind. But I've decided that it's time for me to move on to explore other creative opportunities."

Nichols echoed Ulrich's sentiment, telling TVLine, "I had an incredible time bringing Hermione Lodge to life and working with my amazing cast, who became family."

"We had so many wonderful times together during the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. We really do have the best fans ever. I am looking forward to the next chapter and am excited about the future."
