How to Watch “I Am Greta” in Australia

Yes, my subscription to another streaming service is for the environment.
It’s time to pull out those climate strike placard boards again, but not for a march. Instead, Greta Thunberg is reaching audiences through her new documentary I Am Greta.
The film is coming to Oz this spring to remind us that we still need to take action for the future of our planet, and fast.
Director Nathan Grossman’s (The Man Who Played With Fire) deep look into the internationally celebrated teen climate activist tells the story of Greta Thunberg’s global impact and how she built her reputation and sparked other protests and school strikes all over the globe.

In the doco we follow Greta from her very first school strike back in August 2018 all the way to her attendance at the United Nations climate summit in September 2019. This intimate film shares never-before seen footage of Greta as she fights for the environment and struggles with being a teenager in a global spotlight.
In a statement Greta said that she hopes the film will help others understand the importance and reality of what young people like herself are fighting for.
"I hope anyone who watches the film can finally understand that we young people aren't school striking just for fun, we are protesting because we don't have a choice," she said.
"All that we ask for is for our society to treat the climate crisis as a crisis, and give us a safe future.
"I think the film shows just how far that is from happening right now. It shows that the urgency of the scientific message isn't getting through."

So, for the excited environmentalists, here is where you can watch it.
Madman Entertainment has announced that it will initially premiere at the Venice International Film Festival and have its North American premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. But following this, I Am Greta will debut in Australian and New Zealand cinemas from Friday 16 October. You can find your nearest cinema location here.
If you miss out on a premiere ticket or would prefer to watch the film a little more physically distant, you can stream the film on DocPlay from Saturday 14 November.
Here's the trailer if you cant wait till next month.
