How to Score a Free Kick on “FIFA 22”

Score like a pro every time.
If you wanna be considered the best at FIFA, then you need to know how to score a free kick (and not just by luck or a deflection).
Of course, each time FIFA releases a new game, there is always the possibility that you’ll have to learn how to score a free kick again ‘cos they have overhauled the system.
Thankfully, FIFA 22 have only made a few minor adjustments to the free kick process (phew!). Here’s how to score a free kick in FIFA 22.
Select your player.
First up, you’re gonna want to select the best free kicker in your squad. FIFA 22 will automatically choose this player for you based on free kick accuracy, but you can change this to a different player if you prefer someone with high power or curve stats.
The best thing about FIFA 22 is that Messi is the best player. The realism you love to see.

Choose your standing position.
Positioning is everything in FIFA games, and 22 is no different. Before kicking, you can choose one of three standing positions for your player: wide, default and straight.
Obviously, this comes down to personal preference, but generally, a straight standing position is best for a knuckleball, default for topspin, and a wide position for sidespin.
Where do I aim?
Mastering the art of aiming a free kick is not easy, so don’t be so hard on yourself if you’re struggling to get this one nailed.
If you’re going for topspin, use the left stick to aim the target about a meter above the crossbar of your preferred corner.
When adding side spin, move the target to either the left or the right where you want the ball to land depending on which direction of sidespin you use.
For example, if you’re wanting to score a top-right free kick with some sidespin, you need to aim the target at least a meter to the right of the top right of the corner post to compensate for the left swinging ball.
For a knuckleball, you need to aim at the top corner of the goal.

How much power should I use?
Now that you’ve got your player positioning and aim sorted, you need to get your power spot on.
A good rule of thumb is every 10 yards away from the goal equals one power bar. So, if you’re on the edge of the box at 22 yards, a little bit over two power bars will be perfect.
The best way to land on the two or three power bar each time is to practise.
Don’t forget that you can time your free kick to improve your accuracy. All you must do is press shoot again as the player kicks the ball. If timed correctly, the target will go green. If you mistime it, the target will go yellow or red. This is optional though.

How do I add spin?
Finally, you need to know how to add spin to your ball, otherwise, everything else above was for nothing.
To get topspin, you need to flick the right stick up and then down after you’ve locked in your power.
When wanting some sidespin, flick the right stick down and then around in a half-circle.
If you’re really wanting to flex, you can try a knuckleball, but these are far more unpredictable. To perform a knuckleball, flick the right stick down, up and then down again.
Keep in mind, the speed you move the right stick affects how much curve you add to the ball.
That’s all there is! Give yourself an hour of practice and you’ll be banging in those free kicks from all over the park.
