How to Find and Play Old School "Wolfstone" in "Wolfenstein: Youngblood"

Bring 'em on.

The newly released Wolfenstein: Youngblood is the latest instalment in the nearly 40-year-old Wolfenstein video game saga.

It is, without question, the most advanced and evolved game in the series’ history, allowing cooperative play as Jess and Soph Blazkowicz, the daughters of original Nazi-killin' hero B.J. Blazkowicz.

Whether you end up playing online with a mate, or alongside the CPU, prepare for some good ol' fashioned naht-zee hunting, as the two young Blazkowicz daughters prove to be just as adept at blowing out SS brains as their dear old dad. (It’s also somewhat therapeutic, given the inexplicable return of actual Nazis in real life.)

And, because it’s the first Wolfenstein with female protagonists, you get the added pleasure of receiving positive validation throughout the game by your extremely supportive sibling. Sisters are doing it for themselves!

But after a long day of running and gunning, can a girl catch a breath? Hell yeah she can. In Youngblood, once you’ve completed the first two missions and managed to find the Parisian Catacombs where your fellow resistance members are hiding out, you can enjoy some R&R amidst their, admittedly, not-that-relaxing skull-lined corridors. Wander around and admire their underground shooting range, an infirmary, a chapel, and even the world’s most depressing bathroom…

However, in these winding passages, you’ll also find a couple of arcade machines that’ll allow you to play a parody of 1992’s Wolfenstein game, titled Wolfstone 3D.

Wolfstone originally debuted in 2014’s Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus, as a sort of parallel-universe version of the very game you’re playing (except, umm, because it's Nazi propaganda, the resistance are the baddies now). This time, in Youngblood, it comes with an additional "Episode" to enjoy.

Here’s how you find Wolfstone 3D.

When you first arrive in the Catacombs following the first two missions, you’ll be situated facing the bar attended by Jemma. Walk towards her and then turn left to find the arcade consoles. Approach either one, and get your Wolfstone on.

If you return to the Catacombs later on, it may be a little more difficult to locate the games, simply because there are so many winding nooks and crannies, and people interrupting you to assign you side missions. Just keep looking for these signs…

If you’re truly lost, locate the 'Chapel' with the column of skulls, and find the welcome mat that says 'Bienvenue'. That’s where you’ll find Wolfstone.

Wolfenstein: Youngblood and by extension Wolfstone 3D is now available on Microsoft Windows, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
