Here’s How to Pump Fake and Fake Pass in "NBA 2K20"

You too can pull off the saltiest move in the game.

There is no play in basketball more annoying than the fake-out.

Even if you’re a 6ft 11in giant earning millions of dollars a year, the second you’re fooled by an offensive player who pump fakes a shot or fakes a pass, you can’t help but feel like a little kid again, back when your older brothers and sisters used to play a game of 'keepy offy' with the basketball.

So, if you want to send your opponents into that snivelling existential state during NBA 2K20, and give them a sudden session of regression therapy right there on the court, here’s what you need to do.

(This game was previewed on the PS4, so all screenshots below correspond to the PlayStation experience. Nonetheless, we'll outline the correct buttons for Xbox One as well.)

How to Pump Fake

Want to make a defender think you’re going to make a shot, and have them attempt a swat block that sends them flying past you? Tap Square on the PS4 or X on the Xbox One to pump fake.

How to Fake Pass

On the PS4, you need to hold Triangle and Circle while standing or driving to the hoop. On Xbox One, hold down Y and B while also standing or driving to the hoop. Your opponents will hate it.

There you go! Good luck out there being a cheeky little baller!
