Here Are the 20 Games That Come With PlayStation Classic

The… nostalgia… overload… is… real!

Sony has unveiled the 20 games that come built into its upcoming re-release of the PlayStation One (now renamed PlayStation Classic, because time is a runaway freight train and everything becomes 'classic' eventually).

When the device launches on 3 December, here’s what you’ll be able to play:

• Battle Arena Toshinden
• Cool Boarders 2
• Destruction Derby
• Final Fantasy VII
• Grand Theft Auto
• Intelligent Qube
• Jumping Flash!
• Metal Gear Solid
• Driller
• Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee
• Rayman
• Resident Evil Director's Cut
• Revelations: Persona
• R4 Ridge Racer
• Type 4 Super Puzzle Fighter Turbo
• Syphon Filter
• Tekken 3
• Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six
• Twisted Metal
• Wild Arms

Not bad! There are some indisputable stone-cold classics in there, like Final Fantasy VII, Metal Gear Solid, Oddworld, Resident Evil and Tekken 3. There are also a few forgotten classics that provided some solid arcade thrills back in the day, like Cool Boarders 2, Destruction Derby and Syphon Filter.

And then there’s the original Grand Theft Auto, which today remains one of the biggest franchises in gaming history and has more recently earned acclaim for its open-world environment, but will likely blow the minds of anyone who’s not familiar with the old top-down gameplay mode.

Obviously, some punters are disappointed Crash Bandicoot and Spyro aren’t available, but their absence can likely be chalked up to the fact that they’ve been remastered for the PS4. Isn't that enough?!

It doesn’t seem like you’ll be able to download any further games to the device, but at $149—and with that collection—we're not complaining.

PlayStation Classic drops on 3 December in Australia and comes with two controllers, for you and your older siblings who will likely be weeping while playing as they contend with the ravaging agent of time.
