Helicopter Pilot Who Did a Cheeky Maccas Run In Sydney Is Now Under Investigation

If you had access to a helicopter, would you take it on death-defying adventures, or would you just use it to grab a cheeky arvo cheeseburger?

One dude in Sydney opted for the latter, flying his chopper to the Rouse Hill McDonald's in North-West Sydney on Saturday afternoon. (4:20pm, to be exact.)

9 News has the exclusive footage of the FryFO pilot (get it?) landing on the grassy area outside the Maccas, collecting his order, and then flying away.

Kyle and Jackie O claim to have gotten the man in question, "Dan", on their radio show after offering a $1,000 prize.

"Dan" insisted he had permission for his unique mode of transportation, and asked that they donate the $1,000 to Ronald McDonald House.

However, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority's Peter Gibson told Triple M, "the landing is certainly unusual."

"Whether or not it's unsafe is something CASA is having a look at," he said.

"We've got the video and inspectors are reviewing that today"

In a statement to 9 News, McDonald's Australia spokeswoman Skye Oxenham said, "We welcome all customers into our restaurants, as long as they arrive and depart safely."

Conspiracy theorists may want to note that this stunt took place during McDonald's "$3 cheeseburger" promotion. A sneaky PR move, or just an irresistable deal for the helicopter pilots of NSW?
