A Teaser Trailer Was Just Released for the Official Harry Potter Reunion

"Accio reunion!"

It’s been 20 years since the first Harry Potter film was released and Potterheads have remained alive and well, proclaiming their Hogwarts houses to everyone around them and writing endless fan fiction about Harry and Draco.

They’ll be ecstatic to see the official teaser trailer for Harry Potter 20^th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts, premiering on HBO Max on 1 January 2022. Lift your wands in respect.

What will happen in the reunion?

HBO Max has announced that the TV special “will tell an enchanting making-of story through all-new in-depth interviews and cast conversations, inviting fans on a magical first-person journey through one of the most beloved film franchises of all time”.

With promises of “travel(ling) back to Hogwarts”, we’re hoping this means the special will be as immersive and nostalgic as possible. I want to smell the butterbeer brewing in Hogsmeade.

Who is returning for the reunion?

Obviously, the Boy Who Lived, Daniel Radcliffe, is making a comeback, alongside Rupert Grint and Emma Watson.

Among other appearances include Helena Bonham Carter, Ralph Fiennes, Gary Oldman, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Matthew Lewis, and Evanna Lynch.

Lemme recap that for you: we’ll be seeing Harry, Ron, Hermione, Bellatrix, Voldemort, Sirius, Draco, Fred, George, Neville, Luna, and more.

When and where can I watch it?

The producers know that Potterheads love curling up with their fave series on seasonal holidays. The Great Hall has the perfect backdrop for every occasion.

So the reunion will be dropping as the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Day, 1 January 2022.

For Australian audiences, it will most likely be available to watch on Binge, which usually provides the same access to new releases as HBO Max.

Can we please apparate to the New Year already?!
