Knew It: Ed Sheeran Was Just a Rupert Grint Character All Along

Nobody tell Taylor Swift.

The heavily-tattooed, red-headed songbird we know and love (that’s stretching it, maybe) as Ed Sheeran is a lie, concocted by character actor and former Ron Weasley, Rupert Grint.

Grint finally ended the years-long charade on MTV, admitting the ‘Ed Sheeran’ character was just an acting exercise. He doesn’t even like cats. “I hate cats,” he confessed. “All of them. Mine. Taylor’s. F***ing allergic to them.”

Thankfully, Rupert has agreed not to retire ‘Ed’, and will continue the rest of his promotional duties for both his TV show, Snatch, and the new ‘Ed Sheeran’ album Divide.
