It’s a socially distanced approach to donating.

The coronavirus pandemic has had a significant impact on life as we know it, and it has forced us to change the way we go about doing fairly ordinary things.

We've quickly become used to staying at least 1.5 metres apart from one another, working and studying from home, and businesses across the country have to had to shut their doors to prevent the spread of the virus.

However, you might not have thought about how COVID-19 has affected charity shops. Earlier this month, the National Association of Charitable Recycling Organisations (NACRO) told the ABC that people must stop dropping off items if a shop is closed.

Plus, even if a shop is open, you might prefer to stay at home instead of visiting a public space.

Fortunately, there is still a way to help those in need. Australian online fashion retailer THE ICONIC has teamed up with Salvos Stores and Australia Post to give people an easy way to donate pre-worn clothes through their Giving Made Easy initiative.

If you've outgrown a bunch of clothes, you can download and print a pre-paid postage label, place your items in a satchel and drop it off in any red Australia Post Street Posting Box or Post Office. You can download the label here.

Of course, you should make sure your clothes are still in good condition, and don't have any rips or stains.

Not only is it the perfect way to stay socially distant while donating, but you'll also be helping out the environment. When clothes end up in landfill, the materials take years to break down, sending unnecessary greenhouse gas emissions and pollution into the air.

Now, it's time to go and clear out your wardobe!

Also, we'll just leave this here: For a limited time only, Student Edge members get 20% off loungewear at THE ICONIC (minimum spend $99).
