It's Happening: "Fortnite" Has Taken Over "PUBG" As the Most-Watched Game on Twitch

Fortnite's takeover continues.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds' (PUBG) days as one of the top games in the industry were always numbered, but with Fortnite Battle Royale's arrival, it's run has ended quicker than expected.

According to metrics from a Twitch analytics site, SullyGnome, Fortnite Battle Royale has consistently been the most-watched and most-streamed game on Twitch (a video game-watching and streaming site), for the past few weeks.

While this chart may seem intimidating, you just need to look at the end where the purple line (which indicates Fortnite's popularity) rises sharply.

The chart also shows that PUBG, in the pink line, actually hasn't dipped much. Some are drawing the rise of Fortnite Battle Royale up to the fact that it's free, available on all consoles and, ultimately, more fun.

But, of course, everyone has their own theories.

Regardless of whichever is the "best" game, it's hard to look past the price difference. While Fortnite Battle Royale is free on PC and both XBox and PS4, PUBG will cost you around $40 on PC and XBox (and if you only have a PS4, you're out of luck).

That's what the main point of difference.
