Five of the Best Co-Op Games to Play With Your Mates

Here’s a good excuse to invite the crew over.
If there is one thing that has suffered since the invention of online gaming, it’s good old-fashion local co-op gaming.
Now, I love online gaming as much as the next guy—I’m a sucker for Call of Duty: Warzone—but somtimes, nothing beats having your mates over and working together on a co-op game.
To celebrate a by-gone era, here are six of the best co-op games you should be playing with your mates today.

1. Overcooked 2
This co-op cooking simulation is the perfect game to play with your mates if you want a laugh.
In Overcooked 2, players must work together to prepare and cook orders in a variety of absurd restaurants.
You will need to coordinate who will chop ingredients, who will cook, and who will wash the dishes.
It does sound like chores but trust us, okay?
Ideally, you should play with three or four people, but even with just two you’ll have a good time.
2. Octodad: Dadliest Catch
Time for something a little different with Octodad: Dadliest Catch.
Octodad is an octopus who fell in love with a human woman and had two human children with her.
Look, I don’t know how that’s possible either so don’t ask.
Best played with four people, each player controls one tentacle of Octodad and must manoeuvre him throughout levels in the game without raising suspicion.
Why? Because no one knows he’s an octopus—not even his wife.
The game is the perfect amount of crazy to get you and your friends hilariously frustrated at how hard it is for four people to control one character.
3. Halo
One of the best co-op campaigns in gaming history is the Halo series. Legit, there was nothing quite like partnering up with your best friend as Master Chiefs and shooting down aliens in an interstellar war.
Only last year did Xbox release Halo: The Master Chief Collection which included all six games released and with Halo: Infinite due out later this year, there’s never been a better time to co-op your way through the original Halo games.
4. Moving Out
Ever tried moving to a new house? That crap is exhausting. So why not relive it in a video game?
Okay maybe that didn’t sell it, but believe me, Moving Out is a lot of fun.
In this co-op moving sim, players take on the role of removalists carrying furniture out of a house and into a truck within a time limit. Along the way there are obstacles to deal with like rivers, traffic and even ghosts. Think of it as moving furniture goes extreme.
It’s uber amounts of fun, especially if one of your teammates is terrible at video games.
5. Left 4 Dead 2
This zombie killing first-person shooter was designed to be played in co-op mode.
The five levels within the game are pitched as films starring the player’s characters, and each chapter requires players to fight through the infected to reach a safe house.
From shopping malls to swamps, Left 4 Dead 2 is a blood soaked gore fest of zombie shooting at its finest and a game that is a must-play with your friends in this lifetime.
Now with that all said, stop reading this article, call up your mates and take on some of the best co-op games this world has to offer. You won’t regret it.
