Five Nights At Freddy’s Is Getting A Movie

Wait … what?
It’s official – the classic horror game "Five Nights At Freddy’s" is getting a feature film.
Jason Blum, the founder of Blumhouse Productions and producer of the film, announced the project is a go on Twitter on Thursday.
Blumhouse Productions is the studio responsible for such horror and thriller classics as Paranormal Activity and The Purge series.
The original 2014 game followed Mike Schmidt, who was hired as a security guard at a Chuck-E-Cheese-esque restaurant called Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza.
At night, the animatronic creatures would come alive and would naturally try to attack the main character.

Yeesh.
The game became an instant cult hit, amassing hundreds of thousands of downloads, and spawning seven sequels, six spin-offs, books, graphic novels, and now a film.
Emma Tammi is attached as director, having previously directed The Wind and Into The Dark.
The film will be written by Tammi alongside the game’s OG creator Scott Cawthon and Seth Cuddeback.
Scott Cawthon said he’s really excited to see what Emma Tammi will do with the film.
“In meeting with Emma, I felt she had a great understanding of the franchise, and really felt that she could craft something that would please the fanbase and keep people on the edge of their seats.”
In another strange twist, the animatronic beasts in the film are being created by Jim Henson’s (yes, the Muppet guy) Creature Shop.
Filming’s set to begin in February 2023 and we can’t wait to see what this film is gonna look like.
