The 'Five Nights at Freddy’s' Movie Teaser Is Here (Eek!)

Will Josh Hutcherson survive Freddy and the gang?

The first official teaser has been released for the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie, set to release October 27.

While we’re absolutely living for how true it looks to the game… we might keep the lights on while we sleep tonight.

The film was announced last year by Jason Blum, the founder of Blumhouse Productions - a.k.a. the production company behind many of the best horror and thriller flicks around such as Get Out, Paranormal Activity and Insidious.

Whether you have played Five Nights at Freddy’s yourself, or if you've watched gaming creators over the years like Markiplier brave the game themselves while covering your own eyes, this looks like a must-watch.

In the teaser, we watch an old-school style induction video being played for Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria’s newest security guard, played by Josh Hutcherson.

By this point in the trailer, we see Josh pull back the curtain to reveal a glimpse of animatronic rabbit Bonnie and star of the show Freddy (we're already sweating at this point).

We see the iconic security camera setup that you take control of in the game, with the (currently) dormant animatronics placed in the same formation as they are at the beginning of the game too.

It’s not long before the teaser amps it up a notch – we see Josh strapped in a chair before some spinning blades, creepy laughs, and the iconic, terrifying glowing eyes from the animatronics.

In this sequence, I’m sure I spotted the shadow of another animatronic called Foxy – probably the culprit behind most of the biggest jump scares I was victim to when I attempted to play the game.

We also see a glimpse of Matthew Lillard, who you probably know most as Shaggy from the iconic live-action Scooby-Doo films, but also played one of the most iconic characters of the first Scream film.

I’m obsessed with this casting, and while we don’t know exactly who he’s playing yet, we know he’s going to be brilliant either way.
