Wrap-Up Fridays: Poker, Goats and Christmas

The Christmas movie season has begun.
Another week – another slate of releases.
There’s a bunch of movies, TV and gaming releases to cover today, so let’s get right into it.
Movies.
Although there’s not many cinematic releases this week, there are a couple of major streaming drops that have caught our eye.
First up, it’s Poker Face, written, directed by and starring Australia’s Russell Crowe.
Following a tech billionaire’s (Crowe) high-stakes poker game as it descends into chaos, revenge and crime, Poker Face is the latest instalment in our current obsession with modern mystery movies like Knives Out, Bodies Bodies Bodies and more.
Although it hasn’t polled well with critics, the movie (also starring Liam Hemsworth) has a decent sense of mystery, action and fun that makes this one worth the watch.
Poker Face is out on Stan now.
In other news, after 15 years, there’s finally a sequel to the Disney classic, Enchanted.
Disenchanted is one of the most anticipated releases this month, and fans are pumped.

Featuring the returns of Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey, the film picks up years after the OG film, following the main characters as they struggle with the gap between the real world and their home in the fantasy world.
Disenchanted will be out on Disney+ today.
TV and Streaming.
Put your Christmas hats on, because the Christmas movie season has officially begun.
Although there’s a few holiday drops this week like Ryan Reynolds and Will Ferrell’s take on Scrooge in Spirited, our pick has to be another sequel to a piece of early 2000s iconic media.
That’s right, it’s The Santa Clauses. Everyone remembers the three original Tim Allen-led films in which sees Allen’s Scott, a disgruntled toy salesman, take on the mantle of Santa and learn the true meaning of Christmas.
The new series on Disney+ will see Scott’s Santa choosing his successor as he hangs up the hat and cloak.

Catch it now on Disney+.
Gaming.
Finally, there’s one big game out today that has really caught our eye.
We love simulator games, and there’s a throwback to a classic this week with Goat Simulator 3.
If you haven’t played a Goat Simulator game before, essentially, you play a goat, let loose on an island and city, and all you really do is cause chaos.
It’s perfect.
Goat Simulator 3 is game of the year

Despite being the second game in the series, the creators have named it Goat Simulator 3, after they promised they'd "never make a part two".
The second instalment in the series has already been celebrated, as Travis Northup from IGN described it:
“Goat Simulator 3 is the evolution in idiocy I’d hoped for from this iconically weird series. It almost certainly won’t wow you with its level of polish or a deep, meaningful narrative, but sometimes it’s a good idea to turn your brain off and buck your hooves into an old lady’s face while she fires a rocket launcher at you.”
The new version features a larger map, a multiplayer (or multi-goat) option, and heightened insanity.
Goat Simulator 3 was honestly some of the most fun I’ve had in a game all year.

Unashamedly silly, creative, and a nice reprieve from the dark tones in AAA games that are launching at the moment. https://t.co/eOtTR1r8l2
