Etihad Stadium Is Being Renamed Marvel Stadium, But Probably Won’t Have Hulk-Fights Right Away

Your dream of Thor: Ragnarok becoming a reality is getting closer.
Melbourne’s Etihad Stadium will be renamed Marvel Stadium, thanks to a new eight-year deal with the Walt Disney Company, the Herald Sun reports.

The name change will be official from 1 September and will coincide with the introduction of a premium Marvel shop on the grounds.
Plus, the stadium’s chief executive Michael Green says they’ll be delivering “an immersive entertainment experience by bringing to life Marvel characters and content throughout Marvel Stadium”.
Bringing to life Marvel characters? Well, after Avengers: Infinity War, that’ll be a nice change of pace.
Of course, in the short term, Etihad… sorry, Marvel Stadium will continue to host AFL matches. No word on when they’ll start introducing the gladiatorial Hulk-fights seen in Thor: Ragnarok. We assume 2019?
See you at the re-opening.
