Emma Watson Is Now Beat-Boxing For Gender Equality With "Hamilton" Himself, Lin-Manuel Miranda

You may be surprised to learn that Emma Watson did not learn how to beatbox on the mean streets of Oxfordshire, and yet, she still goes HAM for freestyler Lin-Manuel Miranda.

To celebrate International Women’s Day and #HeForShe, Watson interviewed Broadway genius Lin-Manuel Miranda (he of hip-hop spectacular Hamilton fame) and asked him to freestyle about gender equality.

Miranda, who this week also freestyled for President Barack Obama, agreed, so long as the Harry Potter star provided him with the beat.

It’s a pretty endearing duet. Can we get her on that Hamilton covers album please?

Drop the beat, Em.

And here's a SHORT clip of Emma Watson beatboxing while I freestyle about #HeForShe, if you only have 3 minutes. This was so fun.

  • ALEXANDER HAMILTON

  • What she is doing will change the world for the better. What she said in her speech is completely correct, in order for there to be gender equality men and women alike have to break out of the stereotypes about men having to be strong and muscular and women be considered as weak and not able to do the heavy lifting. I once had a friend how really like boxing but she was bullied because she had muscles; she was called a boy and other hurtful names and because of this she stopped boxing and gave up her dream. I am really happy about what Emma Watson is doing and I want to be as empowered and strong as she is when I get older.
