Drake Released a Song About Pikachu (But Pikachu Is a Metaphor)

Rhyming "peek at you" with "Pikachu"? Genius.

Perhaps anticipating his chart-dethroning by Childish Gambino, Drake has teamed up with a new protégé to release a song about a guaranteed-hit-maker: Pikachu.

(I mean, don't you even remember “Don’t Say You Love Me” from the first Pokémon movie?)

Anyway, Drake has joined forces with Atlanta rapper Lil Baby for the tune, also titled “Pikachu”, which sadly isn’t about the tiny-and-soon-to-be-voiced-by-Ryan-Reynolds-pocket-monster, but something else yellow and electric.

We’ll let you discover the metaphor for yourself when you listen to the song.

And now, here’s the song superimposed over that clip of the dancing Pikachus from last year.

Don’t expect to see this on Drake’s album Scorpion, out later this year. It’ll instead feature on Lil Baby’s upcoming mixtape, Harder Than Ever.

Lil Baby, call us, because we already made the music video for you.
