Weird Pikachu Dance Gets Weirder After One Pikachu is Aggressively Dragged Off Stage

A Pikachu dance mob turned seriously strange after the head Pikachu’s costume started to deflate mid-dance and was pretty violently removed from the stage.

The dance was at a Pokémon festival in Songdo, South Korea.

It all starts off cheery. (Maybe a little weird, but mostly cheery.) The Pikachus all have fixed smiley faces and are dancing to Nikki Blonsky’s “You Can’t Stop the Beat.” Then, suddenly, at about the one minute mark, things start to go south.

The head Pikachu starts to deflate and then two men in suits rush on and look as if they’re about to arrest it, as if it was a violent criminal. They then push the poor, now sad Pikachu through the herd of other Pikachus. With their Pikachu leader now gone, some obvious confusion ensues, but the gang get it together.

In the final 30 seconds, the leader makes a comeback. But things are still not quite right. Pikachu starts deflating again and the comeback fizzles spectacularly.
