Donald Trump Had A Crack At The "Hotline Bling" Dance On "SNL"

Donald Trump hosted Saturday Night Live over the weekend, and it was mostly the worst, except for this brief, shining (neon) light.

In a parody of Drake’s “Hotline Bling” (there are a few of those going around lately), Jay Pharoah’s Drake noted all the different awkward white guys he dances like, including your dad, Martin Short’s Ed Grimley character and a taxman played by Trump.

Update: Well, it was good while it lasted. After a wonderful 24 hours of region-free beauty, the clip is now unavailable to Australian viewers. Thanks, NBC!

Trump mewling “you used to call me on the cellphone” is the only funny thing about his presidential campaign that isn’t also terrifying in some way.

Mercifully, the Republican candidate only appeared on screen for 12 minutes during the 90 minute broadcast.

Larry David also returned to trot out his impression of Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders, as well as to cat-call Trump during the monologue. David collected $5000 from advocacy group Deport Racism for his troubles; prior to broadcast, they had set the bounty for anyone who heckled the former reality TV star on air. Though David’s cry of “Trump’s a racist” was pre-planned, Deport Racism honoured their pledge: “Joke or not, it’s true,” they said.

David’s expression during the goodbyes really says everything you need to know about the controversial episode (which was beset by protesters outside of NBC studios).
