Don’t Act Surprised: “Deadpool 2” Is Going To Be A Thing

You can’t tell behind our red and black mask, but we’re smiling.

Fox co-chairman Stacey Snider yesterday confirmed the obvious: that the studio was officially making a sequel to Deadpool , because you don’t simply gross $US750+ million off a $US58 million budget and go, “Yeah, we’re done here.”

Not only is star Ryan Reynolds returning as the titular ‘merc with a mouth’, but director Tim Miller and screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will be back for the foul-mouthed fun.

You can probably expect even more inexpensive X-Men offcuts to join Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead too.

The first Deadpool (which is a thing we can say now) has become the highest-grossing film to carry America’s R-rating, outgunning previous record-holder The Matrix Reloaded.

Deadpool 2 doesn’t have an official release date yet, but we’d suggest something around International Women’s Day.
