David Schwimmer from "Friends" Tells Blackpool Police "I Swear It Wasn't Me"

David Schwimmer wants you to know he is not making a pivot to crime.
Earlier this week, police in Blackpool put a call out seeking a criminal who looked suspiciously like the best character on Friends, Ross Geller.

(Disagree with our assessment about Ross' ranking among the Friends?)

The shot of the unnamed thief stealing a carton of drinks went viral, and even caught the attention of Ross himself, David Schwimmer.
In an effort to clear his name, Schwimmer shared the following video to Twitter, insisting he was in New York at the time of the crime (though, there’s always the possibility he was on a break).
Officers, I swear it wasn't me.

As you can see, I was in New York.
To the hardworking Blackpool Police, good luck with the investigation.#itwasntme pic.twitter.com/EDFF9dZoYR
On Facebook, Blackpool Police gave Schwimmer a pass: "We have investigated this matter thoroughly and have confirmed that David Schwimmer was in America on this date. We're so sorry it has to be this way."
To be honest, we thought the real culprit looked more like Russ, anyway. He remains on the loose.
