Umm, Claire Foy (aka Your Queen) Might Still Be Waiting on Her Backpay from “The Crown”

One is not amused.

Claire Foy, your former queen and soon-to-be girl with the dragon tattoo, may not have actually received that £200,000 ($AUD350,000) backpay check from the producers of The Crown, as was initially reported.

Back in March, it was revealed her co-star, Matt Smith, had received a higher rate of pay in The Crown, despite playing second fiddle to Her Royal Highness.

The show’s executive producer, Suzanne Mackie, addressed the controversy by saying, "Going forward, no one gets paid more than the Queen," which was followed by reports that Foy had been made whole.

But apparently, the controversy did little except fatten up the salary of incoming queen Olivia Colman, who takes over for Foy in the upcoming third season.

Speaking to Al Arabiya, Foy said reports of her getting backpay were "not quite correct".

“That was what was reported that I was back-paid. I’ve never mentioned anything about it and neither have the producers,” she said.

Does that mean she didn’t get any backpay? Or, did she simply not get as much as was initially suggested?

Either way, we wouldn’t advise the producers to get on Foy’s bad side. Because when you come for the Crown, you best not miss.
