Hold Onto Your Tiaras, "The Crown" Season 3 Is Hitting Netflix In November

Her Royal Highness awaits.

We have had a long eighteen months to come to terms with the fact our beloved Claire Foy was leaving The Crown after two seasons, and that was not easy. But, by royal decree, Netflix has finally announced the official air date for Season 3. Commoners, prepare to binge from Sunday, 17 November 2019.

Although the eighteen-month wait was challenging to say the least, our anguish quickly fell away when we saw the 21-second teaser trailer. Behold our new Queen Elizabeth II, Olivia Colman. How does she give such a spine-tingling look? We don’t know, but we love it.

(Somebody, please make casting director Nina Gold a cup of English Breakfast. Thank you.)

Of course, Oscar-winning actress Olivia Colman (The Favourite) will not be the only new cast member. Covering the years between 1964 and 1977, the third season of The Crown will also star Tobias Menzies as Prince Phillip, replacing Matt Smith, and Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, taking over from Vanessa Kirby.

Your original faves might have left Buckingham Palace, but that doesn’t mean you won’t be seeing them on your screens. Kirby stars in Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw alongside Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, and Matt Smith will appear in Official Secrets, which is set to be released in Australia on 21 November 2019.

You still have a few months to perfect your Queen Elizabeth II accent, but until then, seasons 1-2 of The Crown are streaming on Netflix.
