"Chilling Adventures of Sabrina" Hits Up Netflix on 26 October

Get ready for the era of "woke witch" Sabrina.

It's been a hot minute since it was first announced, but the time has finally arrived for Chilling Adventures of Sabrina to take over our lives when it drops this Friday 28 October on Netflix.

The show follows Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka), a teenage half-witch, who has to balance her regular teenage human dramas with, you know, demon-fighting and whatever other evil is thrown her way.

While it hasn't even premiered yet, the show has already received rave reviews with praise for Shipka's performance and it's creepier interpretation of the comic book (compared with the campy '90s version).

Speaking of the type of character this 2018 reincarnation Sabrina will be, Shipka told Variety she's very forward-thinking.

"She's a woke witch," Shipka told Variety.

"She's a strong independent woman and she stands up for herself and she does what she thinks is right."

While Salem will be played by a real cat this time around (no more purrfect puns), it didn't stop the feline actor from strutting the red carpet.
