Chadwick Boseman’s Wife Accepted His Posthumous Golden Globe With a Powerful Speech

It was the most emotional moment of the ceremony.
If you caught this year's Golden Globes ceremony, you would know that it contained its fair share of both highly cringey and memorable moments.
With the ceremony mostly being held over Zoom, there were a number of technical glitches and, uh, uncomfortable speeches (yes, celebrities are just as awkward as us in virtual meetings).
Of course, the ceremony still had a few heartwarming moments as well. The most moving of all: Chadwick Boseman's wife, Taylor Simone Ledward, accepting his posthumous Best Actor award.
Boseman won Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for his role in Ma Rainey's Black Bottom. The Black Panther actor starred alongside Viola Davis as the ambitious young horn player, Levee Green.
The talented actor tragically passed away in 2020 at 43-years-old after a private four-year battle with colon cancer.
"He would thank God. He would thank his parents. He would thank his ancestors for their guidance and their sacrifices," Ledward said in her speech.
"He would say something beautiful. Something inspiring. Something that would amplify that little voice inside of us that tell us you can, that tells you to keep going, that calls you back to what you were meant to be doing in this moment," she said through tears.
"I don't have his words, but we have to take all the moments to celebrate those we love."
Fans took to Twitter to express how much they admired Ledward's strength.
She is an incredibly strong woman. I’m sure the last few years have been very very difficult and I have so much respect for her. Must have been so hard for her to watch Chad going through that.

On top of Ledward's speech, the Golden Globes also included a segment where several kids were asked by TikTok star La'Ron Hines who Chadwick Boseman is.
Viewers were left in tears after all of the kids immediately knew exactly who Boseman was, saying he was the Marvel superhero Black Panther.
Other highlights from the 78th Annual Golden Globes included Chloé Zhao making history as the first Asian woman to win Best Director for her movie Nomadland, which also won Best Motion Picture – Drama.
Borat Subsequent Moviefilm beat out Hamilton, Music, Palm Springs and The Prom in the Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy category, with Sacha Baron Cohen thanking his "comedy genius" costar Rudy Giuliani in his speech.
Finally, it should also be noted that Emily in Paris did not take home any awards.
