Sorry: “Carpool Karaoke” Beat Beyoncé’s “Lemonade” To An Emmy

Beyoncé could have added an Emmy award to her mantle - alongside countless Grammys, VMAs and dismissed lawsuits - if it wasn’t for that infuriatingly adorable James Corden.
At the Creative Arts Emmys (held prior to the televised Emmy Awards, where the big-tickets prizes are handed out), “Carpool Karaoke” triumphed over Bey’s “Lemonade” in the category Outstanding Variety Special. (The accolade went specifically to its “Prime Time Special”.)
Corden’s sing-along show also trumped Adele’s Live In New York program and Amy Schumer’s Live at the Apollo special.
Bey will compete for Outstanding Director of a Variety Special at next Monday's proper Emmys ceremony. However, that one is likely to go to Thomas Kail for Grease: Live. (The dude also directed Hamilton, so it’s hard to argue with his cred.)
Of course, it’s worth remembering that Beyoncé is still Beyoncé, and thus feeling bad for her in any way – for any reason - is basically pointless.

Anyway, when is she gonna get in Corden's car?
