California Man Wins $1,000 And Then $10 Million From The Same Lottery

A Californian man has won the lottery twice, and no, not by a little.

According to KCRA-TV, Rodney Meadows won $US1,000 with a scratch-and-win lottery ticket on November 23. The prize came from a special edition $30 California Lottery 30th anniversary scratchy.

Deciding to “let it ride,” he returned to the Fast Mart in Modesto where he’d made the purchase and grabbed the remaining three $30 tickets.

Two of those tickets were fruitless. But no matter. One of them had the $US10 million dollar bonanza.

"First off, I could not believe it," he told KCRA-TV.

"I had to ask the clerk at the store, and he said, 'You better check it again at the machine.'"

Another Fast Mart customer, Joseph Trancoso said of Meadows, “He plays compulsively everyday. It couldn’t have happened to a better guy.” (Can we assume the last part was said through gritted teeth?)

Just a reminder that, even if there is the prospect of winning $10,001,000 in a lottery, “compulsively” buying tickets and spending $120 a day on scratchies definitely isn’t recommended.

Let’s hope the next time Meadows decides to “let it ride,” it’s in a conservative, long-term investment fund to provide a lifetime of financial security for his family. YOLO!
