Billie Eilish's New Hair Has Broken An Instagram Record

Blonde bangs for the "Bad Guy" singer.
There are slow news days, there’s breaking news, and there’s this: Billie Eilish is now blonde.
Breathe everyone, breathe.

The popstar took to Instagram today to make the announcement, posting a video with the caption: “did you guess correctly?”

In the video, Eilish pops up from off screen, flicks her new hair back, and then smirks at the camera.
The video was followed up a few hours later by a photo showing off the blonde bangs in all their glory.

Previously known for her fluorescent green and black hair, the singer has ditched the iconic look in favour of some damn fine blonde bangs.
This drastic change shouldn’t come as a shock to fans, with Eilish revealing in her documentary The World’s A Little Blurry that she might change her hair.
“I’m changing it after the doc comes out. It will be the end of an era,” she said.
“I’m going to give you a new era.”
And what better way to end one era than to win Best Record and Best Song Written for Visual Media at last weekend’s Grammy awards and then break the internet days later when you dye your hair.
Girl knows how to make an impact, that’s for sure.

With her latest wins, that brings her total of Grammy awards to seven, confirming that becoming the youngest solo artist in history to win a Grammy last year was no fluke.
However, she also set another record after posting on Instagram this week, with her Insta hair reveal setting the record for the fastest post to reach 1 million likes (it took five minutes).
I can’t even get one like in that time.
The singer's fans took to Twitter to express their excitement over the change.

Seriously, why can’t I get this kind of response when I get a haircut?
Hair aside, we certainly hope this new era that Billie is ushering in comes with a slappin’ new album.
In an interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Eilish admitted that COVID-19 had provided the perfect opportunity to record a new album.
"I don’t think I would’ve made the same album, or even the album at all, if it weren’t for COVID," she told Colbert.
"That doesn’t mean it’s about COVID at all, it’s just that, when things are different in your life, you’re different. That’s just how it is. So, I have to thank COVID for that, and that’s about it.”
The artist also revealed in an Instagram stories Q&A with fans that the new album will have 16 songs.
There is no date planned for the album's release yet but we'll keep you updated when that changes.
